Jordy eliminated

It was a great heat, some good barrels and massive turns, but it went the way of Durbridge. Bede clocked in two great scores of 9.33 and7.83 at Coolangatta Beach, and Jordy was chasing.

Jordy quickly got a 6.5 under the belt, as well as a 7.43,but was needing a nine plus score to make the heat go his way, and it wasn't forthcoming.

"Jordy is one of the best surfers in the world," said Bede after the heat. "he's got all the tricks and i knew it was going to be a tough heat, so I tried to stick to my game plan and it paid off."

Jordy scores a 9th place, 600 valuable points and US$6,300. A decent start to the year.
