Successful Round Two

While the much heralded rivalry between Jordy and Dane Reynolds seems to have calmed down to a panic amongst the surf and mainstream media, it has not been forgotten by the two protagonists themselves. With both Jordy and Dane advancing through their round two sudden death heats, they both mentioned post-heat the affect that the rivalry had on them on their rooky year of competing on the World Tour last year. Dane was talking to the media after his victory over Nathaniel Curran.

"There is less of a build up this year because the rivalry between Jordy and myself has been forgotten. Last year i tried my hardest not to think about it," said Reynolds.

"It was really difficult to surf under that pressure and always having Jordy on the back of my mind, it really messed with me mentally."

Dane is set to meet Roy Powers in round three and Jordy is set to face off against Taylor Knox in their third round encounter.
