O'Neill Cold Water Classic

This event takes place in Santa Cruz and is where the Cold Water Classic idea originated. It was the first and foremost Classic from where the 2009 series grew. The venue for the Santa Cruz event is the cold, kelpy but classic Steamer Lane, where the event has a rich history.

The wave is a tricky one to surf, and this gives many of the locals a distinct advantage. This often results in a local-dominated final. Having said that, Jordy won the event in 2007 against Kieran Horn (Santa Cruz, CA), Brett Simpson (Huntington Beach, CA) and Josh Loya (Santa Cruz, CA).

Jordy will be competing in all of the O'Neill Cold Water Classic WQS events this year.
