This event last year was the one that showcased Jordy and Dane Reynolds to the world. The two natural-footers went ballistic in the right-handers of Trestles to annihilate all the top seeds of the event in the first couple of rounds. All the top seed except for Slater that is.

While neither Jordy or Dane continued on in the event to win or get a good result, their scintillating performances were the talk of the town, the media, and every man and his dog who watched their respective shows.

This year promises more o the same. The high performance waves at Trestles are so well suited to Jordy and his style, and it is also the wave in the 'Kelly Slater In Black and White' video that showed people like Jordy what the new school style was all about.
