Billabong Pro Teahupoo

Billabong Pro Chopes

Most dangerous stop on the tour?

The Billabong Pro Teahupoo is one of the gnarliest events on the World Tour. Home to one of the most insane, draining barrels in the world, and spot where Laird caught the Millenium Wave that changed the way we see big wave surfing.

The wave, commonly known as 'Chopes,' has seen some incredible action over the last few years, as well as some serious injuries and even a free-surfing death.

This year Jordy will be going to Tahiti many weeks before the event starts. He wants to acclimatise, get into his Chopes boards, and get into a rhythm. He has already publicly stated that he is very excited to surf Chopes again; that the wave is so perfect.

Jordy is no stranger to big and powerful lefts, and has had chances to prove himself at big Pipe. He didn't disappoint, and will no doubt blow minds amongst the ridiculous barrels of Teahupoo.
